Prior to your tan:
- You must thoroughly exfoliate and moisturise your skin the day PRIOR to your tan to fully remove any dead skin. Please pay particular attention to knees, elbows and back of heels.
- If you need to shave/wax, please do so at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan application. This allows enough time for the pores to close.
- Please remove all traces of make up, deodorant and perfume prior to your tan application as these could cause a barrier.
- Please do not moisturise on the day of your tan, as this may create a barrier.
- Please do not moisturise after the application of your spray tan, until you have showered and the cosmetic guide colour removed.

|
Your spray tan appointment:
- Please wear loose, dark clothing to your appointment. This avoids the cosmetic guide colour rubbing off onto light clothes. Although the colour will wash out from most garments.
- Do not wear clothes or footwear that could cause friction and rub marks, for example socks, trainers, boots, tight jeans etc.
- It is fine if you have mascara on, but please avoid foundations and powders as again, this could cause a barrier.

After your spray tan:
- Do not wash your hands for at least 2-3 hours to avoid the “white hand” look!
- Please avoid touching your skin after your spray tan as you will transfer some colour onto your palms of your hand, which is difficult to remove!
- Do not exercise or swim while the tan is developing. Normal activities can resume after you have removed the cosmetic guide colour in the shower.
- Please note; Chlorine will fade your tan faster as it has a bleaching effect on the skin
- Leave the spray tan application on the skin for at least 8 hours. For optimum results, leave on the skin over night.
- Shower as usual in the morning. You may notice a brownish tinge to the water, do not worry! This is not your tan washing off, it is the cosmetic guide colour that is applied.
- Pat the skin dry after showering, do not rub.
- Apply your normal moisturiser or tan maintainer as normal.
- There are several ways to help maintain and extend the life of your tan. I am a proud stockist of Sienna x and Urban Tan products to help you do this at home. Ask me for details.
- Please note; Urban Tan contains No sunscreen, so you should protect your skin in the sun in your normal way.
- It is recommended that you do not have a spray tan in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy.
